MPS Weekly Update4/5/24 Apr 12 2024 Dear Mashpee Community, As you are all probably aware, a solar eclipse will be occurring this coming Monday, April 8, 2024. Given the path, Mashpee can expect about 93% of the sun to be covered by the moon. Solar Eclipse glasses are being provided to all MPS students and staff and the importance/requirement to wear them when viewing the solar eclipse is being reinforced with our students. The eclipse begins at 2:17 PM, reaches its maximum at 3:30 PM, and ends at 4:39 PM. If there is a specific viewing plan in place for your child’s school, the principal will communicate it to you. Please reinforce with your children the importance of wearing their glasses properly and for the whole time while viewing the eclipse.
